Men-A-Logue
Men-a-logue, an informal gathering of men at the La Verne Church of the Brethren, was created to help men do what women do naturally: visit with their friends! Rev. Vern Jahnke, late of Claremont, started Men-a-logue about fifteen years ago. The meetings are very informal.

Wednesday Afternoon Book Study (WABS)
Wednesday, June 11, 2025, 19 a.m., WABS meeting, we will read and discuss the novel:
Parable of the Sower, by Octavia Butler. (Post-apocalyptic novel written 30 years ago, but with great similarity to our world today!)
For summer reading, (which we will discuss in September, at our Wednesday, Sept. 9, 10 a.m., meeting, since we do not meet in July or August) we will discuss two books:
Ruthless Tide, by Al Roker. (The nonfiction account of the tragic flood that decimated the town of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, in 1889);
and the novel:
Happiness, by Danielle Steele. (A great summer read to refresh and inspire our hope.)
Please join us for any and all of these sessions. We love to talk about our books and their impact.
