Families Worship Together
Here at La Verne Church of the Brethren, we follow the tradition, deeply rooted in the Brethren; families worship together. Second graders and above are encouraged to sit with their families during the worship service. We provide worship bags with clipboards and crayons for children to doodle on and play with quiet toys.
Children’s Time
We also hold a short children’s time during worship, where children of all ages are welcome to come forward to participate in listening to an age-appropriate talk. Parents are welcome to come forward with their children, as well. If it is your first time, you should do whatever is most comfortable for you and your children.
Aqua Room (Nursery) for Birth – 1st Grade
For your convenience, we do provide a safe and secure nursery for children from birth through 1st grade. It is located to the left (west) of the sanctuary. You will be asked to fill out a simple form and check your child into the nursery. You will receive a number that will be written on your child’s name tag. You will keep the physical number during worship. Following worship, you will need to return the number to the childcare provider at the time of child pick up. Please note any allergies or special requests at the time of check-in. You may check your children in before worship or after children’s time, which takes place during worship.
Mother’s Area
At this time we have a mother’s area located in the Women’s Sanctuary Restroom (east of the sanctuary). We offer a changing station and sofa.
Youth in Worship
Youth, grades 6-12, are also encouraged to attend worship with their family or friends.
Spiritual Formation for Children & Youth
Typically, we provide age-specific groups during our Spiritual Formation from 10:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. You can read more about these groups on our Spiritual Formation Page HERE. We also typically offer special events and activities each month, at various days/times, which can be found on our Mid-Week Group’s Page HERE.
