Multigenerational Civil Rights Tour / “Marching on to Freedom Land: the Past and Present Struggle for Civil Rights” / June 25-29
Learn about the U.S. civil rights movement by visiting the sites of the struggle. This multi-generational group will travel to Montgomery, Selma, and Atlanta to study past and present movements for voting rights and racial justice. Compare the “then” and “now” of civil rights work and explore the philosophy – and power – of nonviolence. Consider what it means to be peacemakers today in the tradition of the Beloved Community.
All ages are welcome to participate. Middle and high school students are encouraged to participate with or without parents/guardians. Fundraising will begin in January . If you want to sign up click on the button below. If you have questions email amanda@lavernecob.org
