Wednesday Afternoon Book Study
WABS – the Wednesday morning Book Study group, will meet on Wednesday, October 8, at 10 a.m., in the Church Library to discuss the book, West With Giraffes, by Lynda Rutledge. This novel is a fascinating, charming, action-packed, fictional account of the “ incredible true story of two giraffes who made headlines and won hearts of Depression-era America.”
It is 1939, and two giraffes are on a twelve day road trip to be sent from New York, across country, to the San Diego Zoo. Per the publisher: “Part adventure, part historical saga, and part coming-of-age love story it explores what it means to be changed by the grace of animals, the kindness of strangers, the passing of time, and a story told before it’s too late.” All are welcome, whether you have read the book or not.

Bells
October is here, and the Bells are already making beautiful music together! As we settle into the rhythm of the season, we’re excited to keep building our sound, strengthening our teamwork, and preparing for upcoming performances.

Choir
On November 7th, 7:00 pm, your LVCOB Sanctuary Choir will sing the anthem for the worship service of the Pacific Southwest District Conference. Both the worship service and the conference will be held at our church. The service is open to everyone.
Meanwhile preparations for the choir’s upcoming Christmas concerts are underway. Save Saturday, December 13th, 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 21st, 4:00 p.m. to attend Shawn’s The Light of Hope Returning in our sanctuary, festively decorated for the Yuletide season.
