While we have events at the church for all ages, much of our life here is intergenerational.

We have events at the church for all ages. Some are designed for specific groups, such as youth and children; but much of our life here is intergenerational. Worship, Blessing of the Animals, Peace Camp, Celebration of the Arts, Alternative Gift Faire, all-church luncheons and summer picnics all speak to our belief that everyone is welcome at God’s table.

Blessing of the AnimalsBlessing of the Animals
Bring your pet(s), a picture of a beloved animal, or an endangered species you want to honor. Even stuffed animals are welcome! We will rejoice and sing with all living things. We commit to caring for God’s world and creatures.

Alternative Christmas FaireAlternative Gift Faire
The Alternative Gift Faire offers a rare opportunity to purchase unique and thoughtful gifts for family and friends while helping those struggling to survive. Through Church World Service, blankets and/or school supplies may be provided for a refugee child. A door, a brick, or some nails can be donated to build a house for the homeless through Habitat for Humanity. Heifer International can provide a cow to give milk, chickens to lay eggs, trees, seeds or bees to give families the opportunity to feed themselves and to become independent. Local merchants specializing in fairly traded goods provide all sorts of gift ideas. Local artisans sell photographs, handmade cards, jewelry, pottery, linens, quilts and more, with the majority of the proceeds going to charity.

Peace Camp
Every July, kindergarten through fifth grade children spend three hours each evening for a week learning how to be peace makers.About eighty children from the surrounding community participate, and close to eighty adults assist. The program includes music, crafts, story telling, games, building, and banners. Children work in small groups as well as choosing individual projects. On Saturday, at the end of peace camp week, interested families take a trip by bus to Camp La Verne in the Angelus Oaks for an introduction to a rustic camping experience. Learn more about Peace Camp.

Celebration of the ArtsCelebration of the Arts
In the past five years an estimated 6,000 people have experienced and enjoyed this event, 900+ visual and performing artists have been showcased, demonstrations in wood-carving and sketching have amazed and educated, and a wide-variety of live-music and dance entertained enthusiastic Celebration-goers. Attend this year’s Celebration!

All Church Luncheons and Picnics
At one large table we will sit down and eat together. Burgers and hot dogs will be grilled right there. To help everyone feel welcome, there will be vegetarian and vegan burger choices, and gluten free options as well. Drink and fresh fruit will be furnished. There is no collection basket and no agenda.

We want everyone’s energy, creativity, truth and presence woven together within this community of faith. Check out the News and Events page to find out ways you can join us!
