Alternative Gift Faire
November 5, 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Fellowship Hall

Mark your calendars for The Alternative Gift Faire in November. The Alternative Gift Faire offers a rare opportunity to purchase unique and thoughtful gifts for family and friends while helping those struggling to survive. Vendors this year include:

Ten Thousand Villages who feature items from communities throughout the developing world. Every inspired design is crafted with love using local materials (usually natural or recycled) and time-honored skills by makers we have known and worked with for years.

Church World Service offers the opportunity to purchase blankets and/or school supplies for a refugee child.

Through Habitat for Humanity you can purchase a door, a brick, or some nails to aid in building a house for the homeless.

Heifer International can provide a cow to give milk, chickens to lay eggs, trees, seeds or bees to give families the opportunity to feed themselves and to become independent. A shopper can honor family members and friends by giving gifts in their names. Holiday cards are provided to announce the gift to the person in whose name it has been given.

Local artisans will be selling photographs, handmade cards, jewelry, pottery, linens, quilts, and more, with a portion of the proceeds going to charity.

The LVCoB youth will be selling Fair Trade coffee, tea, and chocolate!

The David & Margaret Christmas Tree. Families can choose to anonymously spread some Christmas joy by selecting an ornament from the tree and purchasing gifts for at-risk residents ages 11-19.

To add to the festivities, lunch will be served on the courtyard. Diners’ donations enable the youth of the church to sponsor families at Christmastime through Inland Valley Hope Partners. The money is used to buy gifts, household goods, and food for families in need. Shopping and dining at the Alternative Gift Faire – what a wonderful way to send a message of love and compassion during the holidays. Help us get the word out about this great event.
