This day will be celebrated as Diversity Sunday, with worship being coordinated by the Open & Affirming Action Group. Central to our service will be personal stories which offer us insight into what it means to walk awhile in one another's shoes.

The Baby with the Bathwater (August 24, 2008 — Vern Jahnke)
We take more with us than we think or intended to when we “get free” of something. Brethren roots are in liberation from Lutheran/Roman Catholic orthodoxy. Lutheran roots are in liberation from Roman Catholic dominance. Catholic roots are in liberation from Roman hegemony. A true “theology of liberation” accounts for our tendency to incorporate much of what we intended to reject.
