Some of the ways the La Verne Church of the Brethren responds to needs of our
neighbors at home and around the world:
- The Annual Alternative Christmas Faire benefits Church World Service, Habitat for Humanity,
Heifer International, Inland Valley Hope Partners and Meals on Wheels.
- We are a member of Inland Valley Hope Partners which provides shelter and food security to
families in need.
- We build Health Kits and School Kits for disaster victims.
- We hold blood drives.
- We "Trick or Treat" for UNICEF.
- We hold Young Peacemaker’s Camp to teach children creative nonviolence.
- We support House of Ruth, David and Margaret Home, The City of La Verne Summer Lunch Camp, Christian Peacemaker Teams, Brethren and Mennonite Council for LGBT Interests and more.
- We host training sessions for Disaster Childcare Services.
- We hold vigils and march for peace.
- We provide a market for Fair Trade coffee, chocolate and tea.
- We create "safe space" for those who have been unwelcome in other settings.
